Nippon Kokan (NKK) recently received a contract from a Dutch/U.K. company to build a passenger/cargo ferry, the first such European order for the Japanese yard. The keel for the 1,250-passenger, roll-on/roll-off vessel will be laid at NKK's Tsurumi Works in the spring of 1986.
