Marinette Launches Another Berthing Barge For U.S. Navy

Marinette Marine Corporation, Marinette, Wis., recently launched the third in a series of 16 YRBM(L) berthing barges (photo above) under construction for the Naval Sea Systems Command. The YRBM(L) vessels have a 146-foot overall length, 46-foot beam, and 688-long-ton displacement.

Halter Completes Diesel Electric Supply Boat Contract For Acadian

The recent delivery of the Acadian Commander (shown right) and Acadian Explorer by Halter Marine, Inc., New Orleans, La., marked the completion of a six vessel contract with Acadian Marine Service, Inc. for the world's first diesel electric SCR tug/supply vessels.

Bollinger Delivers Patrol Boat

In time of heightened security, the new 87-ft. (26.5 m) coastal patrol boat. USCG Sturgeon, built by Bollinger Shipyards for the U.S. Coast Guard at Grand Isle, La. Was a welcome sight. The new boat replaces the 82-ft. (24.9 m) patrol boat Point Sal, that was commissioned in 1966.

Northrop Grumman Delivers USNS Brittin

USNS Brittin (T-AKR 305), the sixth of seven Bob Hope-class strategic sealift ships being built by Northrop Grumman Corporation's Ship Systems sector, was delivered to the U.S. Navy at the company's company's Avondale Operations in New Orleans on July 12.
